Stefan Kozlov is coming off a straight sets win over Steve Johnson that took 19 games to decide. Kozlov is officially the cinderella of the tournament after beating the fourth-seed rather easily. Kozlov, who just turned 18 years old a couple of months ago, picked up the biggest victory of his young career and certainly doesn’t want the fun to end now. Beating a top-40 player should certainly earn the attention from tennis fans around the world, as Kozlov is still very new to this level of competition. Kozlov has never made the semifinals of an ATP event. Kozlov has split his last six matches on grass court.
These two have met once in the past, which was in the 2014 Sacramento Challenger, a match Querrey won in straight sets. The match took 19 games to decide. This will be their first match on grass court.
Kozlov shouldn’t be slept on considering what he just did, but Querrey has looked sharp in his last two matches and should view this tournament as a chance to refind his form heading into the Wimbledon. It would certainly be a shocker to see Kozlov win back-to-back matches against top-40 players.
Querrey wins this match in straight sets.
