Andy Murray and Nicolas Mahut meet in the round of 32 at the 2016 Queen's Club Championships.
Andy Murray is coming off a French Open final loss to Novak Djokovic. Murray has been on a roll this season, as he’s made the final in his last three tournament appearances and has six victories over top-10 players this season. As if Murray needed anything else to go his way, he’s won the Queen's Club Championships four times and is the defending champion. Murray is playing some of his best tennis in years as he’s hitting the ball sharp, making little unforced errors and is gaining confidence by the tournament. Murray is in elite form at the moment and has won 10 of his last 11 matches on grass.

Nicolas Mahut will be confident in this tournament after playing for the Ricoh Open title and kind of turning back the clock lately at 34 years old. Mahut will also be double dipping in this tournament with his partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Mahut doesn’t look like the same player who was forced to retire from the French Open in the second round, as he’s hitting the ball sharply and seems to be getting better the longer the match with three victories after dropping the first set. Mahut is a dangerous first match given his great form at the moment. Mahut has won 13 of his last 14 matches on grass court. Mahut has not beaten a top-10 player since Stanislas Wawrinka in 2013.
These two have played five times in the past and Murray leads the series, 4-1. The most recent match was in the 2015 Rotterdam Open, a match Murray won in 17 games. Mahut’s only victory over Murray came in the 2012 Queen's Club Championships.
You can’t put anything past Mahut given the way he’s playing right now. However, betting against Murray in his current form is not a good idea. The only person better than Murray at this very moment is Djokovic.
