Andy Murray vs. John Millman 2016 Wimbledon Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

John Millman is coming off a four set win over Benoit Paire that took two and a half hours to finish. In the victory, Millman won 60 of 78 first serve points and racked up 35 winners and 18 unforced errors. Millman is just out there looking for his shots, as he’s produced 81 winners and eight aces in his first two matches. If Millman can just trim down his unforced errors, he’ll give himself a fighting chance to make a deeper tournament run. Millman is close to being a top-50 player for the first time in his career and has to be very confident after just picking apart top-25 player in the second round. Millman has never made the fourth round of a grand slam. Millman has split his last eight matches on grass.

These two have played once in the past, which was in the 2013 Brisbane International, a match Murray won in three sets.

Millman’s tournament is already a success after picking up an impressive win over a top-25 player and getting to the third round of a grand slam for just the second time. Although beating Murray simply isn’t going to happen. Murray’s play has been on another planet the last several months and it’s tough seeing that come to an end here.

I’ll take Murray in straight sets.
