July 2016

The Line -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

TV: ESPN

Milos Raonic and Jack Sock square off early in the third round of the 2016 Wimbledon.

Milos Raonic is coming off a straight sets win over Andreas Seppi that took just under two hours. In the victory, Raonic won 51 of his 60 first serve points and racked up 41 winners to 19 unforced errors. Raonic now has 52 aces and 99 winners in his first two matches. It’s quite clear Raonic is in a rhythm right now and he’s very tough to beat when he’s dominating his service game and hitting his spots. Raonic is due for another deep grand slam run if he stays in this form. Raonic hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the third straight time. Raonic has won eight of his last 10 matches on grass.

Milos Raonic vs. Jack Sock 2016 Wimbledon Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Jack Sock is coming off a four set win over Robin Haase that took two hours and 16 minutes. In the victory, Sock won 58 of his 73 first serve points and racked up 53 winners and 20 unforced errors. Sock has been inconsistent in his singles matches this year, but he hs 79 winners and has won 79 percent of his first serve points in two matches this tournament. We all know what Sock is capable of when he’s hitting the ball well, as he’s easily a top-20 player when in top form. Sock hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for just the second time in his career. Sock has won eight of his last 11 matches on grass.

These two have met eight times in the past and Raonic has won seven of those meetings. The most recent match was in this year's Miami Masters, a match Raonic won in straight sets. Jack’s only win over Raonic came in the 2013 Memphis Open.

I really want to pick Sock for the upset, but he’s not consistent enough to go that far out on a limb. Either way I think this match is going to be long and possibly five sets.

However, for my money, I’ll side with Raonic due to more consistency.

Raonic in four long sets.
