Angelique Kerber and Agnieszka Radwanska meet in the semifinals of the tennis 2016 WTA Championships.

Angelique Kerber is coming off a straight sets win over Madison Keys that took 18 games to decide. In the victory, Kerber won 62 percent of her first serve points and 63 percent of her second serve points. Kerber continues to play the most consistent tennis of any player on tour and has now won her last five sets overall. Kerber has dominated her first serve for much of this tournament and is fresh off a match in which she won 61 percent of her return points. Kerber doesn’t seem satisfied with everything she’s accomplished this season, and would love a shot at her 11th career WTA singles title. Kerber has a chance to make her eighth final appearance this season. Kerber has won 13 of her last 16 matches on hard court.

Angelique Kerber vs. Agnieszka Radwanska 2016 WTA Championships Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Agnieszka Radwanska is coming off a straight sets win over Karolina Pliskova that took 21 games to decide. In the victory, Radwanska won 74 percent of her first serve points and 48 percent of her second serve points. Radwanska has now made the semifinals of the WTA Finals three straight years and just won an elimination match to get to this point. Radwanska has improved her serve since her opening match and has won a combined 49 of 67 first serve points in her last two matches. We know what we’re getting with Radwanska on the return, it’s her service game that determines if she’s going to win the match or not. Right now, Radwanska should be rather confident. Radwanska hopes to make her fourth final of the season and back-to-back finals in Singapore. Radwanska has won 12 of her last 15 matches on hard court.

These two have played 11 times in the past and Radwanska has won six of those meetings. The most recent match was in the 2015 China Open, a match Radwanska won in straight sets. Kerber’s last win over Radwanska came in the 2014 Stanford Open, and she’s won three of the last five matches overall. Six of the last seven matches between Kerber and Radwanska have been decided in straight sets.

This is going to be a hell of a matchup that has three sets written all over it if both players hold form. It’s tough to bet against Kerber with the way she’s played all season and the fact she’s improved her poise in big matches. However, the value is on Radwanska in this spot. Radwanska has the athleticism and defense to frustrate Kerber and has a long, successful track record in the WTA Finals.

I’m backing Radwanska in this match.
