In the victory, Raonic won 74 percent of his first serve points and 67 percent of his second serve points. Raonic has been lights out with his service game in this tournament, as he’s lost just 16 first serve points in his last three matches. Raonic has also lost a combined 14 second serve points in his last two matches. If Raonic can keep that sort of performance up, he’ll have a real shot to make his fifth final of the 2016 season. Raonic has six wins over top-10 players this season and has never beaten seven ranked players in one year. Raonic has won four of his last six semifinal appearances. Raonic has won seven of his last nine matches on indoor hard court.
These two have played 11 times in the past and Murray has won eight of those meetings. The most recent match was in this years Cincinnati Masters, a match Murray won in straight sets. Murray has won the last seven matches against Raonic and his last loss came in the 2014 Indian Wells Masters.
Raonic is finishing the season strong, but as you guys heard me say many times this season, betting against Murray is foolish. Murray is playing his best tennis of his life and has a legit chance to be crowned the top player in the world.
Give me Murray in this match.
