The Line: Naoya Inoue -6000 / David Carmona +2000 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

Naoya Inoue and David Carmona fight Sunday at the Ariake Coliseum for the WBO junior bantamweight title.

Naoya Inoue enters this fight with a 9-0 record that includes eight knockouts. This will be Inoue’s second fight since 2015, and he’s coming off a December win over Warlito Parrenas. Inoue continues to tear his way through Japan by demolishing all of his opponents and five of his nine fights have ended in the fifth round or earlier. Inoue has extreme power in both hands and simply knows how to jump on his opponent when he has him on the ropes. Inoue throws great combinations and has ended many fights just by working the body. The Monster is quickly becoming a star in Japan and will only get bigger as he just turned 23 years old. Inoue has fought his whole career in Japan, his home country.

Naoya Inoue vs. David Carmona Boxing Preview, Pick, Odds, Prediction - 5/8/16

David Carmona enters this fight with a 20-2-5 record that includes eight knockouts. Carmona has won four of his last five fights and is coming off a October win over Ricardo Rodriguez. Carmona should enter this bout confident as he’s been on a nice little run lately with no losses within the last two years. Carmona is an experienced boxer with decent hand speed and likes to use his left hook to do a lot of his damage. Carmona doesn’t have a ton of punching power, so his movement is key against skilled fighters. The draw against Warlito Parrenas was good practice for Carmona, as he’s another power puncher who throws impressive combinations. This will be Carmona’s first fight in Japan.

Carmona has proven himself to be a decent fighter and is more than capable of hanging around early in this boat. However, betting against Inoue is just stupid. Inoue’s punching power and aggressive offense gives him a monster advantage, especially when Carmona doesn’t have much pop to counter. This is a fight that Inoue should win by knockout.

Inoue will still be undefeated after this fight.
