Dusty Hernandez-Harrison and Michael Dallas Jr. fight Friday night at the D.C. Armory on BET.
Dusty Hernandez-Harrison enters this fight with a 29-0 record that includes 16 knockouts. This will be Hernandez-Harrison’s sixth fight since 2015, and he’s coming off a January win over Angel Hernandez. Hernandez-Harrison is a rising star at just 21 years old, as he seems to be the total package with his athleticism and technique. Hernandez-Harrison also has power in both hands and has shown the ability to adjust to his opponent when needed. Hernandez-Harrison is clearly on his way to becoming a household name in the sport of boxing. The only real concern I have with Hernandez-Harrison is that he may be overworking himself, as he seems to have a fight every three months or so. Hernandez-Harrison has fought a lot in Washington, his birth place.
USA TODAY Sports
Michael Dallas Jr. enters this fight with a 21-3-1 record that includes 10 knockouts. Dallas has won four of his last five fights and is coming off a December win over Odilon Rivera. Dallas has had a couple of recent hiccups but should enter this fight with confidence after winning his last two bouts by knockout. Dallas moves well around the ring and is a rangy fighter with good length. Dallas has a very quick left hand and clearly has some pop in his punches considering five of his last six wins have come by knockout. Dallas also has an experience advantage at 29 years old and 103 rounds under his belt. The concern with Dallas is that he’s struggled nearly every time he’s stepped up in competition. This will be Dallas’ first fight in Washington.
Every time Dallas has moved up in competition, he’s struggled. Whether it was Lucas Martin Matthysse, Josesito Lopez or Mauricio Herrera. Fighters with more skill than Dallas don’t have much trouble getting the victory. It’s fair to say Hernandez-Harrison is the best fighter he’s faced.
Look for Hernandez-Harrison to remain undefeated.
