The Air Force Falcons host the Wyoming Cowboys in a Mountain West battle on Saturday.
It seems that every few years Wyoming has a team that makes opponents stand up and take notice and this might be one of those teams. The Cowboys did what they were supposed to do in a 35-7 victory over Northern Colorado in week three. Wyoming took a 21-0 lead in to the break and never really held their foot on the gas pedal as this could have been more one sided. Instead they got in and out without injury which is always a danger in these type of games. Wyoming out gained the Bears 437-340 with two UNC interceptions ending up in their own end zone while Brett Smith (30-47/264) kept things nice and short in a more leisurely ball control air game. Shaun Wick led the rushing attack with 87 yards on 16 carries with a pair of scores with the team more that willing to keep the clock going and move on to week four.

Air Force has been the victim of back to back one sided defeats after taveling to the blue turf of Boise State and returning with a 42-20 loss. The Falcons appeared poised for the upset when they trailed 21-17 at the half but the Broncos turned up the fire over the final 30 minutes to walk away with an easy win. AFA has been struggling to get their option attack pointed in the right direction and that hasn't helped their defense who has seen too much of the field. BSU won the battle for real estate 546-296 with the normally potent rushing attack producing 197 yards on 52 tries for less than four yards per touch. Jaleel Awini paced the run with 107 yards on 23 carries with a pair of touchdowns and went 4-9 for 99 yards and an interception in a valiant effort versus a tough opponent that doesn't lose at home.
On paper Wyoming should have the edge here but I'm sure the Falcons will be fired up after the Cowboys HC Dave Christiansen made a few remarks after last season's game that will add some spice to this one. I'll back the Cowboys and the passing of Smith...
