The New Mexico State Aggies pay a visit to the Rose Bowl to face the UCLA Bruins Saturday.
So far after three games New Mexico State has struggled to find the end zone and have been unable to keep opponents out of their's. That has been a common theme and the one remedy I see that could help is developing a viable rushing attack that could eat up some yards and keep the clock running to keep the defense off the field. The Aggies demonstrated ability to throw in a 42-21 loss to visiting Texas El Paso but the scoreboard tells the story. Andrew McDonald and King Davis III combined to go 14-25 for nearly 300 yards with three touchdowns and a pick but that couldn't compare to the Miners 546 yards with an equal ability to both run and throw.

UCLA turned the emotion of the death of wide receiver Nick Pasquale in to positive energy which the team rode to a 41-21 thrashing of Nebraska on the road. The Cornhuskers led 21-10 entering the break but the second half was nothing but domination by the visitors. The numbers don't always tell the story but did so here with the Bruins owning total yardage 504-331 with most of the damage inflicted over the final 30 minutes. Jordon James paced the rushing attack with 1o5 yards on 22 totes with the team amassing 210 yards on the ground overall. The air ways were productive as well behind Brett Hundley who went 16-24 for 294 yards and three touchdowns and an interception with Shaquelle Evans totaling 97 yards on three catches. The defense allowed 331 yards and completely shut down the Nebraska attack in the second half.
The spread is so huge I don't see a clear cut advantage to backing either team. The questions I ask are whether UCLA finally has a let down and do they even care if this is 42-7 or 66-0 because both are realistic. Honestly have no clue so I'll just take the points for now...
