The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a 1-3 start this season and while hopes are under Coach Stoops it is going to be a building process. The Kentucky offense is averaging 21.8 points and 410 yards but it hasn’t been enough. At QB Maxwell Smith has completed 57.9 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and an interception while Jalen Whitlow as completed 66 percent of his passes with one touchdown and an interception. Jojo Kemp is averaging 8.9 yards per carry and Raymond Sanders is averaging 5.5 yards per carry with a touchdown. Javess Blue leads UK in receiving with 18 catches and a touchdown, Ryan Timmons has 15 catches and Alex Montgomery has 10. The Kentucky defense is allowing 23.2 points and 375.8 yards per game with one interception, nine sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Avery Williamson has a whopping 42 tackles, while Alvin Dupree and TraVaughn Paschal have 25. A win in this spot would be a huge confidence builder for Kentucky.
South Carolina is 6-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 8-3 against the spread in the last 11 home games, and 1-4 in their last five games overall. Kentucky is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, and 3-14 against the spread in their last 17 home games. The favorite has covered in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
This is a big number and while South Carolina often plays down to their completion I am looking for an outright blowout here.
