Apogee Stadium and the North Texas Mean Green host the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
From what I have seen from Middle Tennessee State is that both sides of the ball have looked good at times but consistency has been an issue. The Blue Raiders gave East Carolina all they could handle before falling 24-17 but the numbers seemed to favor the Pirates who held a 511-334 edge in yardage. ECU was more balanced while the Blue Raiders were pass heavy Reggie Whatley the only threat on the ground with 55 yards on ten carries. The passing of Logan Kilgore was more effective with 245 yards on 28-37 with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. The defense really struggled to get stops with East Carolina going 17-23 on third down conversions.

Not to long ago North Texas was primarily a running team but have evolved in to a team that is more effective through the air and whether that's by design or because of the personnel is something I can't figure out. I do know the Mean Green have some winnable games on their schedule but need more offensive punch and consistency. A 24-21 defeat at Tulane was a winnable game but zero points in the first half killed them and a lack of any rushing attack didn't help. UNT ran for just 34 yards which meant that moving the chains fell on the right arm of Derek Thompson who completed 28-42 for 326 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions including a pick six. The Mean Green gave up only 227 yards and scored on a fumble return in a very strong performance.
I see two teams that seem close in terms of talent with Middle Tennessee State having a slight edge. Having said that I think the Mean Green at home can get the job done...
