The Buffalo Bulls shoot for back to back conference wins when they face the Western Michigan Broncos on the road Saturday.
Buffalo has the look of an improved team in 2013, but I'll be a believer if they can keep winning, which is the ultimate measuring stick. The Bulls upped their record to 3-2 with a 42-28 rout of Eastern Michigan in their MAC opener, a good sign versus a team they have struggled against. UB didn't have a problem here as they won the yardage battle 452-329 split almost evenly between the air and ground. The Bulls ended all mystery when they took a 28-7 lead at the break and never let the Eagles back in it. Joe Licata was an efficient 15-22 for 224 yards and a score, while Brandon Oliver paced the running game with 150 yards on 25 totes including a 60 yard TD jaunt. Devin Campbell returned a kick 96 yards for another six as UB dominated in all phases.

For those of us that follow MAC football, you know that this isn't the same Western Michigan we've seen over the last several years. Suffice to say the Broncos have been struggling on both sides of the ball and did so once again in 47-20 loss at Toledo in week six. The Rockets led in yardage 528-375 with a run heavy attack while WMU struggled on the ground with Dareyon Chance rushing for 80 yards on 25 carries with the team averaging less then 2 1/2 yards per try. The quarterback tandem of Zach Terrell and Tyler Van Tubbergen combined to complete 19-32 for 288 yards, but this game was decided in the trenches where the Broncos mustered less then 100 yards, while Toledo ran for over 300.
Seeing Buffalo as a decent sized favorite on the road is simply something I don't see, but this seems like they're in a good spot if they come close to matching their performance versus Eastern Michigan...
