The Eastern Michigan Eagles host the Ohio Bobcats in week eight conference action.
Ohio is one of my favorite teams but I certainly was not a fan of the way this team performed in a 26-23 home loss to Central Michigan to drop to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the MAC. I simply don't know how a short handed Chippewas club comes in as a 20 point dog and wins on the road but in this league you never know. Both teams totaled in the 430+ yard range but Ohio lost two fumbles and were picked off twice with a fumbled punt in the final minute leading to Central Michigan's winning touchdown. Beau Blankenship and Ryan Boykan ran for a combined for 114 yards on 32 carries. Tyler Tettleton moved the chains through the air with a 24-33 effort for 319 yards with a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions which ruined a great afternoon. Chase Cochran and Donte Foster combined for 240 receiving yards but mistakes ultimately was the deciding factor.

Eastern Michigan has struggled to score and keep opponents from scoring in 2013 which is the reason they have dropped four in a row following a 50-25 defeat at Army. This game was up for grabs after 30 minutes with the Black Knights leading 22-18 but Army ran away in the second half with mistakes and big plays doing them in. The Black Knights rolled up 513 rushing yards with 67 and 96 yard scoring runs allowed. Bronson Hill gave the Eagles a solid rushing threat with 143 yards on 20 totes including a 12 yard scoring run. The air attack was solid as well behind Tyler Benz who completed 17-26 for 233 yards with a touchdown and a pick in the red zone. The bottom line was the Army option was too much to handle for 60 minutes.
Ohio is easily the better team and will win this if it were played on the moon because Eastern Michigan isn't in the same class. Having said that I am not a fan of what I have seen from either team so call this a lean...
