The Texas A&M Aggies and the Auburn Tigers face off on Saturday in College Station in a SEC college football battle.
The Texas A&M Aggies don’t have the same kind of defense they had a season ago but their offense has been good enough to get it done when they need it. Texas A&M is averaging 47.8 points and 586.5 yards per game and they have turned the ball over seven times. Aggies QB Johnny Manziel has looked every bit the part of a Heisman Trophy winner completing 73.2 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions and he has rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns. Ben Malena is averaging 5.1 yards per carry with eight touchdowns as well as 13 receptions and a receiving touchdown and Tra Carson is averaging 5.5 yards per carry with four touchdowns. Mike Evans leads the Texas A&M receivers with 32 catches and five touchdowns, Malcome Kennedy has 30 catches and four touchdowns, and Derel Walker has 24 catches. Defensively Texas A&M allows 32 points and 474.3 yards with eight interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and five sacks. Howard Matthews has 38 tackles, Steven Jenkins has 34 tackles, and Deshazor Everett and Darian Claiborne each have 32 tackles. Texas A&M’s only loss was to top ranked Alabama and if they can win out who knows what the possibilities are.

After one of their worst years in recent history the Auburn Tigers are just a win away from being bowl eligible. The Auburn offense is rejuvenated averaging 34.3 points and 474.2 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 11 times. QB Nick Marshall has completed 59.2 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for two touchdowns. The Auburn ground attack is led by Tre Mason who averages 5.6 yards per carry and seven touchdowns, Cameron Artis-Payne averages 7.2 yards per carry with three touchdowns, and Corey Grant is averaging 10.0 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Auburn spreads the ball around in the passing game and Ricardo Louis has 15 catches and a touchdown, Marcus Davis has 4 catches and a touchdown, and Sammie Coates has 13 catches and a touchdown. Defensively the Tigers allow 18.8 points and 399.3 yards with seven interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and 16 sacks. Robenson Therezie has 28 tackles and three interceptions, Jermaine Whitehead has 27 tackles, and Cassanova McKinzy has 24 tackles. Auburn already has five more interceptions than they had all of last season.
Texas A&M is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven SEC games, and 6-14 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Auburn is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, and 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The total is set sky high but this one could easily be a track meet and for my free pick it is a lean to the over. My stronger play is on who will cover the point spread and I will post the ATS winner in the Premium Area.
