The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers face off on Saturday in Tuscaloosa in a SEC college football rivalry game.
The Alabama Crimson tide are the number one ranked team in the nation and they are getting better by the game but the Tide know better than to look too far ahead. The Alabama offense is averaging 40.7 points and 460.4 yards per game and they have turned the ball over just six times. A.J. McCarron has completed 69.2 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions and he has been sacked just seven times. T.J. Yeldon has a 6.6 yards per carry average and seven rushing touchdowns and he has 11 receptions and Kenyan Drake is averaging 8.2 yards per carry with seven touchdowns as well as eight receptions and a receiving touchdown. Christion Jones has 26 catches and two touchdowns, DeAndrew White has 20 catches and three touchdowns, and Kevin Norwood has 17 catches and two touchdowns. The Alabama defense allows just 9.7 points and 275 yards per game and they have six interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 11 sacks. C.J. Mosely has 58 tackles, H Clinton-Dix has 29 tackles, and Landon Collins has 28 tackles. Alabama looked nearly flawless shutting out Arkansas last week.

The Tennessee Volunteers are coming off of their biggest win of the year as they knocked off South Carolina in Knoxville with a last second field goal. The Tennessee offense is averaging 30.4 points and 368 yards and they have turned the ball over 13 times. Justin Worley has completed 55.8 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. Rajeon Neal leads the Vol ground attack averaging 5.2 yards per carry with eight rushing touchdowns and he has 16 catches out of the backfield and Marlin Lane is averaging 5.9 yards per carry with four touchdowns. Piq Howard leads UT with 23 receptions and three touchdowns, Marquez North has 21 catches and a touchdown, and Josh Smith has 10 catches. The Tennessee defense allows 27 points and 411.9 yards per game with 12 interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and 12 sacks. A.J. Johnson has 55 tackles, Brian Randolph has 46 tackles, and Dontavis Sapp has 36 tackles. Tennessee has played a brutal schedule thus far and it doesn’t get any easier here.
Alabama is 15-7 against the spread in their last 22 SEC games, 18-8 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points, and 1-4 against the spread following a game in which they covered the point spread. Tennessee is 4-0 against the spread in their last four SEC games, 5-11-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-9-1 against the spread following a game where they covered the point spread. The road team is 14-3-1 against the spread in the last 18 meetings of these two.
There is little doubt that Alabama wins this game but Tennessee isn’t just physically prepared and able, they also create turnovers and I wouldn’t be surprised if they got a few here which could keep it fairly close. I like Bama to win but not going to pass on all of these points with the Vols.
