The Auburn Tigers and the Florida Atlantic Owls face off on Saturday in Auburn for a college football matchup.

The Auburn Tigers are one of the great turnaround stories this season as they have gone from a team in turmoil and a team that looked absolutely lost to a one loss team that is ranked in the top 10. The Auburn offense is averaging 35.9 points per game and 494.3 yards and they have turned the ball over 12 times. QB Nick Marshall has completed 57.3 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for 388 yards and four touchdowns. Tre Mason anchors the Auburn running game with a 5.8 yards per carry average and eight touchdowns and Cameron Artis-Payne is averaging 7.1 yards per carry and he has four touchdowns. Sammie Coats leads the Auburn receivers with 18 catches and two touchdowns, Ricardo Louis has 16 touchdowns, and Quan Bray and Marcus Davis have 15 catches each. The Auburn defense is greatly improved over what we saw of them last season as they allow 22 points and 428.1 yards per game with nine interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and 19 sacks. Robenson Therezie has 33 tackles and three interceptions, Jermaine Whitehead has 31 tackles, and Dee Ford has five sacks. Auburn is winning games but still flying under the radar.

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

Florida Atlantic is just 2-5 o the season but despite all of the losing they have been competitive in most of their games. The FAU offense is averaging 22.3 points and 374 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 15 times. QB Jaquez Johnson is completing 60.6 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and five interceptions ad he has 341 rushing yards with five touchdowns. Jonathan Wallace is averaging 4.8 yards per carry with three touchdowns and he has 14 receptions. Daniel McKinney leads the FAU receivers with 32 catches, William Dukes has 25 catches and four touchdowns, and Jenson Stoshak has 18 catches. The Florida Atlantic defense allows 26 points and 360.4 yards per game with six interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 15 sacks. Adarius Glanton has 49 tackles, Andrae Kirk has 46 tackles, and Damiam Parms has 41 tackles.  Florida Atlantic has some talent on their roster but it just isn’t across the board or as talented as their opponent this week.

Auburn is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, 401 against the spread in their last five non SEC games, and 3-9 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover the spread. Florida Atlantic is 11-0 against the spread in their last 11 road games, 12-1 against the spread following a loss, and 8-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record.

Florida Atlantic doesn’t win a lot of games but they cover most and getting a ton of points I have to believe they squeak in another cover here.
