The Western Michigan Broncos take to the road to tangle with the Massachusetts Minutemen Saturday.
Western Michigan was a tough team that nobody looked forward to playing a few short years ago but graduation has wiped the slate clean as the team begins to rebuild. I don't need to say any thing about how the Broncos season has gone because their record tells that story. I will say that points are at a premium and the defense is allowing too many with only one game decided by less then double figures. A strong Ball State knocked off WMU 38-17 behind dominant play on both sides of the ball with a 483-368 yardage edge. The Broncos ran the ball well when they did with 168 yards and over six yard average with Darevon Chance pacing the rushing attack with 120 yards on 12 totes. The scoreboard dictated the Broncos go to the air with Zach Terrell having some success (19-34/204) but most of it came too late.

Massachusetts doesn't have the goose egg in the win column but would certainly like to win a few more games and a few look winnable but Saturday's bout against Buffalo wasn't one of them as the Minutemen fell to 1-6 following a 32-3 defeat. UB was held to 382 yards but that was plenty with UMass totaling 247 while turning the ball over three times with a pick six and a safety handing the Bulls nine points. The struggling offense has their issues on the ground with 84 yards on 33 carries not causing concern for the Buffalo defense. AJ Doyle struggled to connect with receivers and had a hard time getting the ball down field which was the only way UMass could get back in the game. Doyle completed 14-28 for 162 yards with the pick six with Tajae Sharpe hauling in seven balls for 94 yards.
This looks like a repeat of week eight when Miami (Ohio) and Massachusetts squared off and like I said then this is bet at ypur own risk...
