The Stanford Cardinal bounced back from their first loss of the season at Utah two weeks back by beating previously unbeaten UCLA last Saturday. The Stanford offense is averaging 34.4 points and 406.3 yards per game and they have turned the ball over nine times. QB Kevin Hogan has completed 2.9 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions and he has rushed for another touchdown. Shayne Skov has 59 tackles and 3.5 sacks, Ed Reynolds has 50 tackles, and Trent Murphy has 7.0 sacks. With a win Stanford will keep their Pac-12 title hopes alive.
Oregon State is 4-0 against the spread in their last four Pac-12 games, 9-3-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 2-5 against the spread following a game in which they covered the point spread. Stanford is 19-7-1 against the spread in their last 27 road games, 17-8 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 20-8-1 in their last 29 Pac-12 games. The favorite has covered the point spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
This should be a good one but I like the defenses to win the battle and for it to come in under the total. I will post my winner against the spread in the Premium Area.
