The San Jose State Spartans host the Wyoming Cowboys at Spartan Stadium on Saturday.
I am not quite sure of what we have been seeing from Wyoming the last three weeks following a 52-22 loss to visiting Colorado State. That left the Cowboys with a 1-2 record in this span with a pair of one sided losses and a seven point win over New Mexico. Wyoming lost the battle for yardage 509-416 but neither side of the football looked very sharp with the Rams able to move the ball on the ground and through the air while the Cowboys moved the ball but lost a fumble and threw a pick. Tedder Easton totaled 81 rushing yards including a 67 yarder while Shaun Wick ran for 64 yards on 15 carries and a trip to the end zone. Brett Smith completed 21-36 for 246 yards with a 71 TD toss to Dominic Rufran along with a pair of interceptions.

What San Jose State does over the second half of the season will determine whether a Bowl awaits them at year's end. The offense has been sharp in back to back victories following a 34-27 victory over Colorado State in week eight. The pass heavy attack of SJSU racked up over 600 yards with 27 first downs with some semblance of balance with 177 ground yards with Jarrod Lawson rambling for 98 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown. Of course the air is where San Jose State does their damage and did so here with David Fales going 28-35 for 431 yards with scoring strikes of 62, 77 and 83 yards with Tyler Winston (8-151), Lawson (3-104) and Chandler Jones (5-96) leading the receiving corps. The defense allowed scoring plays of 35 and 50 yards so this unit has to prevent lapses they have been prone to.
San Jose State goes as far as Fales takes them which isn't a bad thing while I don't have a clue what we'll see from Wyoming who could easily win. I'm laying the points and watching the line...
