The Minnesota Golden Gophers head to Indiana on Saturday to face the Indiana Hoosiers and their high powered offensive attack.
The Indiana Hoosiers are sitting at 3-4 on the year currently, and are coming off a tough loss to the Wolverines two weeks ago. The Hoosiers have one of the highest octane offenses in the nation currently, as the Hoosiers are averaging 42.4 points per game, and considering Indiana has faced Missouri, Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State…that’s pretty impressive. Defense…well that’s another issue altogether for the Hoosiers. Indiana is currently ranked 113th in the nation allowing 37.1 points per game, meaning basically that if the Hoosiers are going to beat you, they will do so in a shootout. Two weeks ago in Ann Arbor, the Hoosiers fell victim to a much improved Michigan offense. The Wolverines hung 63 on Indiana’s defense, putting up 751 yards against the Hoosiers. Indiana didn’t back down, as the Hoosiers were within a score of the Wolverines heading into the fourth quarter, but Michigan’s talent was too much for Indiana in the end. This team can run with anyone offensively, and if Wilson can find a way to bring in some defensive talent, the Hoosiers are going to be a force.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are coming off a huge win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers this past weekend. The Gophers have put together a nice season so far, but hardly anyone predicted they would be the Huskers outright. The Gophers are an incredible (for them anyway) 6-2 on the season, with their two losses coming against the Hawkeyes and the Wolverines. No shame in either one of those. The Gophers may not have faced the toughest schedule in the world to date, but wins are wins and this team proved last weekend that they can run with some of the better teams in the Big Ten. The Gophers have one of the worst passing attacks in the nation, averaging just over 122 yards per game this season, but on the ground the Gophers are outstanding, rushing for 217.8 yards per game on average this season. The defense is also improved for the Gophers as Minnesota is allowing 23.1 points per game on average.
The total has gone over in six of the last nine games for the Gophers. Minnesota is 4-2 overall in their last six games against the Hoosiers. Indiana is just 3-7 ATS in their last ten games and the total has gone over in 9 of the last ten games for the Hoosiers.
My strongest play here is on the side, and that I will list in the premium section come Saturday. For my free pick on this game, I will be making a play on the total. The number hasn’t been released yet, but once it is I will update this pick, so please be sure to check back often.
