The UCLA Bruins and the Colorado Buffaloes face off on Saturday in Pasadena in a Pac-12 college football matchup.
UCLA has had their chances to prove that they belong on the same stage as other college football powerhouses but back to back losses to Stanford and Oregon have shown that the Bruins stull have some work to do. The UCLA offense is averaging 36.1 points and 469.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 11 times. Brett Hundley has completed 67 percent of his passes for 1,725 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions and he has rushed for 359 yards and four touchdowns. Jordan James has been out but he is averaging 6.3 yards per carry with five touchdowns but he has played just four games while Paul Perkins has rushed for 331 yards and three touchdowns and he has 14 receptions out of the backfield. Devin Fuller has 31 receptions and two touchdowns, Shaquell Evans has 27 catches and five touchdowns, and Jordan Payton has 20 catches. Defensively UCLA allows 22.4 points and 387.6 yards per game and they have nine interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and 15 sacks. Eric Kendricks has 65 tackles, Anthony Jefferson has 53 tackles, and Anthony Barr has six sacks. UCLA gets back home and has a much more manageable opponent here.

The Colorado Buffaloes have lost four of their last five games and while they are improved they still have a long way to go to being competitive in the Pac-12. The Colorado offense is averaging 377.3 yards and 26.9 points per game. QB Connor Wood has completed 53.2 percent of his passes for 1,092 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Michael Adkins has rushed for 369 yards and Christian Powell has rushed for 279 yards. Paul Richardson leads CU in receiving with 50 catches and seven touchdowns and Nelson Spruce has 26 catches and two touchdowns. Defensively Colorado allows 475.4 yards and 37.1 points per game with eight interceptions, seven fumble recoveries, and 10 sacks. Addison Gillam has 74 tackles, Parker Orms has 50 tackles, and Derrick Webb has 46 tackles. It is going to take Colorado a few years of solid recruiting to get into the swing of Pac-12 competition.
UCLA is 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 home games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall, and 7-2 against the spread following a game in which they didn’t cover the spread. Colorado is 6-14 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover the spread, 6-15 against the spread following a loss, and 8-22 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
This is a monster spread but UCLA takes a serious step down in competition here and they should be geared up and ready to roll at home here.
