The Air Force Falcons visit the New Mexico Lobos in a battle of rushing attacks in week eleven.
The Falcons option proved to be better then the option of Army in week ten's 42-28 victory that snapped a seven game slide. Air Force totaled 454 yards with a dominant rushing attack that piled up 343 yards and averaged over 7 1/2 yards per touch. Anthony LaCoste was a man among boys with a monster 263 yards on 23 carries with a trio of touchdowns including a 78 yarder. AFA even had a little punch in their passing game behind Nick Romine who connected on 7-8 for 111 yards with Garrett Brown catching four throws for 78 yards. The key was controlling the Black Knights option that was held to just seven second half points.

New Mexico won't be heading to a Bowl in 2013 and almost threw a Monkey Wrench in to the postseason plans of San Diego State in a 35-30 defeat in week ten. The Lobos were fully prepared for the Aztecs with a week off to prepare but never over came an early 14-0 deficit that had the team playing from behind the entire night. The Aztecs held a 483-423 advantage in yardage with balance between the run and pass while UNM ran the ball as usual. The Lobos totaled over 250 rushing yards with Kasey Carrier leading the way with 73 yards on ten carriers while four players managed at least 45 yards. In the end Cole Gautsche (6-16/101) needed more through the air but throwing the ball is not something New Mexico does often or well.
This will obviously decided on the ground and which team can get a few stops. New Mexico is the best running team in the country and I'm leaning their way at home and will make any changes before Friday...
