The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and Malone Stadium host the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
I thought Arkansas State was dead in the water after they had dropped three of four. Turned out that there might be some life left in them after a come from behind 17-16 victory at South Alabama evened their record at 4-4 with four to play. The offense struggled for the second time out with just 349 yards and were shut out in the first half. Fredi Knighten and Adam Kennedy gave the Red Wolves a viable ground game with a combined 109 yards on 26 carries with the latter scoring on a 12 yard run. Kennedy was highly efficient through the air albeit a short passing attack by completing 15-17 for 136 yards with Knighten going 6-8 for 24 yards. The ASU defense was the star of this one by holding the Jaguars to three field goals.

Louisiana-Monroe has been far from a prolific scoring team in 2013 but may be things are about to change with a healthy Kolton Browning back under center. Browning sliced through the Troy defense like a hot knife through butter in a 49-37 victory to up the Warhawks to 5-4 and keep their postseason dreams alive. The defense allowed over 500 yards and the punt team had a kick blocked and returned for six but the Warhawks never wilted and never trailed. Centarius Donald ran for 114 yards on 22 carries and a score but the front page news was Browning and the passing game. Browning completed 21-31 for 254 yards and five touchdowns with eight receivers recording catches. The defense did recover a pair of Trojans fumbles but struggled to control Corey Robinson who threw for 362 yards.
UL Monroe is a different team with Kolton under center and Arkansas State isn't a great team but I think a touchdown is a bit too much to give up so I'll take it for now and firm this up by Friday...
