The Ole Miss Rebels and the Arkansas Razorbacks face off on Saturday in SEC college football action.
The Ole Miss Rebels have won two in a row and stand at 5-3 as they enter the final third of their regular season schedule being a win away from being bowl eligible. The Ole Miss offense is averaging 32.5 points and 462.2 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 11 times. Bo Wallace has completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 1,976 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions and he has rushed for 154 yards and another three touchdowns. Jeff Scott has speed to burn and he has rushed for 434 yards and two touchdowns and e has caught 13 passes out of the backfield but he has missed the last two games and if he is unable to go it will once again be I’Tavius Mathers and Jaylen Walton who have been outstanding as well. LaVonte Treadwell has 41 catches and two touchdowns, Donte Moncrief has 34 catches and four touchdowns, and Ja-Mes Logan has 30 catches and two touchdowns. The Mississippi defense is allowing 25.6 points and 379.4 yards per game with eight interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 11 sacks. Serdarius Bryant has 57 tackles, Cody Prewitt has 42 tackles, and Trae Elston has 42 tackles. Ole Miss is past what is considered to be the toughest part of their schedule.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are having another season to forget as dreams of a big season after the coaching change have ended up being nothing but more nightmares. Arkansas has lost six in a row and their offense is averaging 20 points and 355.3 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 17 times. Brandon Allen is having a horrible year completing a pathetic 45 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Alex Collins is lone bright spot for the Hogs rushing for 889 yards and four touchdowns but he simply can’t do it alone. Javontee Herndon has 24 catches and four touchdowns, Hunter Henry has 18 catches, and Keon Hatcher has 15 catches. Defensively Arkansas is allowing 31.1 points and 385.8 yards per game with four interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 22 sacks. Braylon Mitchell has 63 tackles, Alan Turner has 62 tackles, and Jarrett Lake has 58 tackles. Arkansas fans have to be wondering if Brett Bielema was the right choice to be the head Coach of their program as their performance on the field has been nothing short of embarrassing for this fine and proud program.
Ole Miss is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 7-2 against the spread following a bye week, and 5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Arkansas is 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 road games, 0-4 against the spread following a loss, and 3-14 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
I can understand a rebuilding process, even at a place like Arkansas which shouldn’t have much of an issue getting top tier talent, but what I have seen from the Hogs on the field is a lack of self confidence and pride and really a team who has quit on themselves, and that all comes from the top down. The line in this game is a monster, one that no one could have expected when the season began but the only thing that is going to be bigger is the margin of victory as I look for Ole Miss to blast Arkansas in this spot.
