The Hawaii Warriors get their crack at containing the option attack of the Navy Midshipmen.
I don't blame anybody for laughing when I say Hawaii has shown some improvement over last season and their 0-8 record probably makes laughing easier but the Warriors have shown a competitive edge to them at times. Having said all that a 47-10 loss to Utah State as a three touchdown under dog says they still have a long way to go. UH had been scoring lately but 319 yards wasn't going to hang with the Aggies who powered their way to over 500 yards. Hawaii needed to run the ball and keep USU and their offense on the sideline but Diocemy Saint Juste with his seven carry, 48 yard effort was the lone bright spot. Sean Schroeder was off his game, going 13-26 for 213 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions including a 99 yard pick six.

The Navy option can and has given Notre Dame problems in the past and did so in a back and forth 38-34 defeat. The offense had zero issue finding the end zone but unfortunately for the Midshipmen neither did the Fighting Irish. As expected, the Irish were the far more balanced squad with Navy running the ball 70 times for over 330 yards and over 4 1/2 yard average. This was a run by committee attack that saw five players total at least 48 yards with Chris Swain leading the way with 83 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Keenan Reynolds added 53 yards and three scores and completed 6-8 throws for 88 yards and another score to give the Middies a surprisingly efficient passing attack that might have caught Notre Dame off guard more then anything.
We know Navy is going to run and score so the question is whether Hawaii can get a few stops and score and neither is a guarantee. For now I'll take the points after Navy suffered the disappointment of losing to Notre Dame...
