The Boston College Eagles travel to New Mexico State to play the Aggies on Saturday afternoon.
Boston College improved to 4-4 overall, 2-3 ACC, after beating Virginia Tech 34-27 last weekend. Boston College had dropped two straight games coming into the matchup with the Hokies, but were able to get back on track with the big win. Boston College had also lost the last five meetings between these two schools. The Eagles only managed 289 total yards against the Hokies, but did not turn the ball over once in the win. QB Rettig completed 11 of 14 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. RB Williams carried the ball 33 times for 166 yards with 2 touchdowns, while WR Amidon caught 3 passes for 53 yards. The Boston College defense allowed 446 total yards but only allowed 55 rushing yards against the Hokies. LB Pierre-Lewis had a 33-yard interception return for a touchdown midway into the fourth quarter. This was one of four turnovers that the Eagles forced, along with doing a great job getting off the field on third down. Boston College will try to earn their first road win of the year when they head out west; the Eagles are 0-3 on the road so far this season.

The New Mexico State Aggies dropped to 1-8 on the year after losing to ULL 49-35 on Saturday. The Aggies actually outgained ULL 450 to 440 in total yards, but were not able to capitalize on their opportunities. QB McDonald completed 24 of 24 passes for 327 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. RB Colwell carried the ball 16 times for 58 yards, while WR Franklin caught 13 balls for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Aggies defense allowed 239 yards passing and 209 yards rushing to the ULL offense, but were able to force 2 turnovers in the loss. The Aggies ranks 106th in points scored and 126th in points allowed this season. New Mexico State is 1-4 at home this season.
Boston College is 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Aggies are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win.
These two teams have never played one another before and this game sets up to be a blowout in Boston College’s favor. Boston College has a decent defense and should have no problem slowing down the Aggies offense on Saturday. New Mexico State has a terrible front seven that has not been able to stop the run this season, so the Eagles should have great success on the ground. Boston College hasn’t played well on the road this year but I think they win by 30 in this one.
