The Texas El Paso Miners head out on the road to face the North Texas Mean Green in CUSA action.

Texas El Paso possesses a very solid rushing attack which would seem to be an advantage when facing some of the bigger offenses on their schedule but that hasn't been the case. The Miners needed the run game working in week ten versus Texas A&M but that didn't work out in a 57-7 defeat for loss number six in a row. The Aggies not only controlled the Miners ground game but held them to only 198 yards overall and forced four turnovers. Aaron Jones was the lone bright spot on the ground with 62 yards but it took him 22 carries with his four yard TD run accounting for all the UTEP scoring in the very first quarter. Blaire Sullivan struggled to move the chains through the air with a 9-17 night producing 71 yards so the three picks were magnified. The bottom line Texas A&M totaled 564 yards and were able to run and throw as desired.

North Texas Mean Green vs. Texas El Paso Miners Pick-Odds-Prediction - 11/9/13

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The first season in the CUSA has been a good one for North Texas...so far. The Mean Green improved to 4-1 in the conference and 6-3 overall following a 28-16 victory over visiting Rice. Surging UNT has now won four in a row with three games to be played and a spot in the postseason within their grasp. The Offense was plain vanilla versus the Owls but took complete advantage of a recovered fumble and a pair of interceptions to score when the opportunity arose. UNT managed just 253 yards with a Antoinne Jimmerson and his eight carry, 62 yard rushing yards leading the fround game while Derek Thompson completed 7-13 for 104 yards and a touchdown and pick. The defense forced Taylor McHarque to the air more then he wanted where he tossed a pair of critical interceptions.

I think North Texas is a nice looking squad and is even better at home which has me looking at them in a must win versus UTEP if they want to stay in the CUSA race. This line is a little late coming out so look for injuries before betting...
