Spartan Stadium and the San Jose State Spartans host the San Diego State Aztecs in week eleven.
San Diego State is right in the middle of the postseason conversation but whether this team goes Bowling depends on what they do over the final four contests. The Aztecs took a step in the right direction with a 35-30 victory over stubborn New Mexico for win number four in five. The Aztecs were never able to put the Lobos away but never trailed thanks to an offense that ran and passed their way to 483 yards. Adam Muema was dominant on the ground with 233 yards on 27 carries with three touchdowns while Quinn Kaehler enjoyoyed an efficient performance in the air. Kaehler completed 16-21 for 201 yards with a pair of TD's to Ezell Ruffin who hauled in seven receptions for 165 yards including a 75 yarder. At the final gun the balance of SDSU over came the running of New Mexico.

San Jose State might not be enjoying the dream season they had a year ago but they are right in line for a Bowl invite and at 4-1 in the Mountain West they are just one game behind unbeaten Fresno State for first in the West Division. The last four games are not easy so the pass first attack has to be clicking on all cylinders. Strangely it was the run that was front page news in a 34-24 victory at UNLV which was win number four in a row. The Spartans racked up nearly 500 yards with 312 coming on the ground with an average of almost seven yards. Jarrod Lawson was the work horse with 187 yards on 27 carries and a TD while Thomas Tucker checked in with another 94 yards on eight totes and a score. David Fales suffered through a rare off day with a 15-30 effort for 150 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions which was all that was needed with the run working and the defense holding UNLV to 351 yards.
I think San Jose State wins because I don't see Fales havingconsecutive poor outings. I would go as far to say the Spartans have blow out potential but I can't ignore the points in a game so important to the Aztecs...
