The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in Starkville in a SEC college football battle.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs enter week 10 at 4-5 on the season meaning they are going to need to go at least 2-1 in their final three games to become bowl eligible and with their schedule it is going to be a stiff test. While every year Mississippi State starts the season with high hopes, they have fallen short virtually every season under head Coach Dan Mullen. QB Dak Prescott is fairly one dimensional completing 58.4 percent of his passes for 1,542 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions and he has rushed for 722 yards and 10 touchdowns. LaDarius Perkins has rushed for 433 yards and two touchdowns and he has caught 19 passes. Jameon Lewis has 39 catches and four touchdowns and Robert Johnson has 27 catches. Bernardrick McKinney leads the defense with 55 tackles and 2.5 sacks, Nickoe Whitley has four interceptions, and Deontae Skinner has 50 tackles. MSU averages 29.8 points and 459.2 yards per game and they are allowing 27.2 points and 372.9 yards.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are undefeated and ranked number one in the country and are coming off of a monster win over LSU where they took over what was a close game in the first half and turned it into a drubbing in the second half. QB A.J. McCarron is looking for his third National Championship as he has completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 2,041 yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions. T.J. Yeldon has carried the Alabama rushing attack with 862 yards and 12 touchdowns and Kenyan Drake has 556 yards and seven touchdowns. Chrition Jones has 28 receptions, Kevin Norwood has 27 catches, DeAndrew White has 24 receptions, and Amari Cooper has 23 receptions as the Tide spread the ball around on offense. C.J. Mosley has 71 tackles including seven for a loss, Landon Collins has 38 tackles, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has 36 tackles. The Alabama offense is averaging 40.9 points and 452.7 yards per game while defensively the Crimson Tide are allowing 10.6 points and 281.2 yards per game.
Mississippi State is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 SEC games, and 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games against a team with a winning road record. Alabama is 5-0 against the spread in their last five SEC games, 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 road games, and 20-8 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points.
This is a ton of points to be laying on the road in a SEC road night game but the disparity here is this big as I don’t see MSU having the offensive game to even compete with the Bama D. The Tide should be on Mississippi State’s side of the field all night long that is when they aren’t in the endzone.
