The San Jose State Spartans travel to MacKay Stadium to face the Nevada Wolf Pack.
With three games remaining in the season San Jose State is likely out of the running for the MWC title after falling victim to a late San Diego State rally in a 34-30 home loss. The Spartans are 4-2 in the conference and 5-4 overall with the passing of David Fales keeping the team afloat. The defense let the team down against the Aztecs who scored 22 fourth quarter points while the offense kicked three field goals instead of extra points. SJSU didn't do much on the ground with Jarrod Lawson totaling 78 yards on 17 carries so the task of moving the ball fell on the shoulders of Fales who completed 27-48 for 301 yards with three touchdowns and a pair of picks with Chandler Jones snagging eleven passes for 155 yards and a score.

If I were to pick a disappointment in the Mountain West it would be hard to look past Nevada who I thought would at least make some noise. Instead they have dropped five in a row and will finish with a losing record following a 38-17 loss to Colorado State. What looked to be a defensive struggle with the Wolf Pack leading 7-6 at the half turned in to a scorefest for the Rams who put up 32 second half points. CSU racked up a 570-411 yardage edge with running and passing ability and Nevada couldn't keep up. Cody Fajardo was a one man offense with a team high 87 rushing yards on 13 carries and a trip to the end zone while completing 31-46 throws for 247 yards with Hasaan Henderson hauling in ten passes for 110 yards. The bottom line was the defense struggled to stop Kapri Bibbs who ran for 312 yards and scored four times.
I think both defenses can be scored on and obviously San Jose State is better so they should win. I do think Nevada might be a bit over looked getting more then a touchdown but it takes nerve to back this crew...
