The Colorado State Rams pay a visit to the New Mexico Lobos with a Bowl berth on their minds.
Colorado State has been a decent offensive team but has struggled at times on the defensive side of the football. However the defense rose to the occasion and the offense poured it on in a 38-17 decision over Nevada as a nine point favorite. This was a defensive struggle with the Wolf Pack leading 7-6 at the half before exploding for 32 second half points. The Rams rolled up 570 yards behind a bruising running attack that totaled 331 yards and averaged nearly nine yards per try. Kapri Bibbs was a monster on the ground with 312 yards on 30 carries with four trips to the end zone including 28 and 85 yards scoring jaunts. Garrett Grayson was none too shabby throught the air by hitting on 20-27 for 239 yards and a pick.

New Mexico has three games remaining on their schedule and a sweep means a .500 season which is a successful year for a team unaccustomed to winning. Whatever the future holds the Lobos have been about as potent on the ground as ant team with over 330 yards per contest. The Lobos out did themselves in a 45-37 victory over Air Force with 465 rushing yards and a 7 1/2 yard average. Kasey Carrier led the way with 179 yards on 27 carries with Cole Gautsche not far behind with 140 yards on 20 touches with a pair of touchdowns. Jhurell Pressley added another 84 yards and two scores with UNM refusing to throw because it wasn't necessary. Gautsche went 1-3 for 28 yards with the lone completion going to Jeric Magnant for a TD on the opening drive.
Colorado State is fighting for their postseason lives against a very dangerous New Mexico. The Rams have surprised me with their success and hopefully keep surprising me...
