The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Saturday in a week 12 SEC college football matchup.

The Vanderbilt Commodores are 5-4 on the season and they are just a win away from going to a bowl game. Last week Vandy went into Gainesville and knocked off the Florida Gators in a game that ended all sorts of negative streaks. Patton Robinette has somehow gotten it done at QB completing 56.7 percent of his passes for 421 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions and he has rushed for 90 yards and four touchdowns. Jerron Seymour as rushed for 541 yards and 12 touchdowns and Wesley Tate has rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns. Jordan Matthews has 71 catches and five touchdowns and Jonathan Krause has 32 catches and three touchdowns. Kenny Ladler has 73 tackles and three interceptions, Darroen Herring has 64 tackles, and Kyle Woestmann has 5.5 sacks. The Vanderbilt offense averages 32.3 points and 377.7 yards per game while the Vandy defense allows 28.8 points and 384.8 yards per game.

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Kentucky Wildcats Pick, Odds, Prediction 11/16/13

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats have a long way to go until they are competitive and while they hoped this season they would be taking a step forward it looks more like an all out rebuilding process in Lexington. Kentucky is just 2-7 on the year and none of those wins came against teams in the SEC. Jalen Whitlow has completed 64.6 percent of his passes for 915 yards and five touchdowns and e has rushed for 395 yards and six touchdowns. Jojo Kemp has rushed for 435 yards and two touchdowns and Raymond Sanders has rushed for 404 yards and three touchdowns. Javess Blue has 31 catches and two touchdowns and Ryan Timmons has 27 catches and two touchdowns. Avery Williamson as 82 tackles, Alvin Dupree has 47 tackles and 5.5 sacks, and Za’Darius Smith has 41 tackles and 5.5 sacks. The UK offense is averaging 23.2 points and 358.9 yards per game and defensively they are allowing 29.6 points and 421.6 yards per game.

Vanderbilt is 14-6 against the spread in their last 20 home games, 5-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 8-2 against the spread following a win. Kentucky is 6-13 against the spread in their last 19 games overall, 5-2 against the spread following a loss, and 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 SEC games. The favorite has covered the spread in the last four meetings of these two.

Vanderbilt has done well for us against the number but it has been as a dog for the most part and not as a double-digit home favorite, I am just going to go with the under here as the total looks to be ridiculous for these two.
