The Central Michigan Chippewas hope to save their slim Bowl hopes with a win at the Western Michigan Broncos.
Central Michigan stands at 3-6 with three games remaining but their postseason took a huge hit in their 44-24 loss at Ball State. The Chippewas scoring and defensive woes were front and center against the tough Cardinals who rolled up nearly 550 yards and owned a 31-3 lead at the half. CMU mustered almost 400 yards but struggled to hold on to the ball with a pair of lost fumbles combining with an interception. The Chips desperately needed a viable rushing attack to keep the Ball State offense on the sideline but their only source of running yards came from Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore totaling 68 yards on six tries. Cooper Rush had a nice night through the air by hitting on 20-32 for 284 yards with a touchdown and pick with most of his success coming late.

Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan locked in a back and forth battle that the Eagles pulled out 35-32 in overtime. The Eagles trailed 29-21 with 51 seconds but found the end zone and converted the two point conversion to go to the extra session. EMU was out gained 468-400 but survived on their ability to run that produced 264 yards and averaged six yards per touch. The duo of Ryan Brumfield (15-148) and Bronson Hill (23-108) were a solid one, two punch and it was a welcome sight with Brogan Roback struggling through the air. Roback connected on 9-22 for 136 yards with a touchdown and interception. The defense had problems with Zach Terrell who threw for 348 yards but some how came up with one more stop then the Broncos.
Central Michigan is the better team in my view but laying points on the road isn't an ideal situation so I tend to shy away from touching this in any way...
