The Wisconsin Badgers improved to 7-2 on the year this past weekend, and now turn their sights on the Hoosiers this coming Saturday.
The Wisconsin Badgers took care of business this past weekend, defeating the BYU Cougars 27-17 at Camp Randall Stadium. The Cougars were able to hang around with the Badgers, aided in large part by Wisconsin turnovers. The Badgers put things away late however, taking control and winning handedly against a solid BYU team. The Badgers have one of the top ground games in the nation again this season. The Badgers are ranked 10th nationally on the ground, picking up an average of 280.6 yards per game. The passing attack for Wisconsin has struggled, but if Wisconsin is able to get up on you, the Badgers can just kill the clock, and beat your defense up, and that is how this team wins games. The defense for the Badgers is also stout, holding opponents to just 15.2 points per game on average this season, ranking the Badgers fifth in the nation in overall scoring defense.

The Indiana Hoosiers have an outstanding offense this season as Kevin Wilson is really getting his scheme into high gear in Indiana. The problem is, the Hoosiers have zero defenses. Indiana is giving up an average of 37.4 points per game this season, putting the Hoosiers at 114th in the nation in points allowed. Wilson has done a great job with this offense, which ranks tenth nationally in scoring offense, but until the Hoosiers do something significant in the way of bringing in defense talent, Indiana will be no more than a middle of the road team. The Hoosiers are coming off a solid win this past weekend however, defeating the Illinois Fighting Illini 52-35. Camp Randall will be rocking this Saturday, but the Badgers have a road trip to Minnesota the following week, so perhaps the Hoosiers can catch the Badgers napping on Saturday.
The Indiana Hoosiers are just 2-4 against the spread in their last six games, and the total has gone over the number in five of the last five games for Indiana. The Hoosiers are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, and Indiana is just 1-6 overall in their last seven games on the road. Indiana is also just 2-4 against the spread in their last six games at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Wisconsin Badgers are 5-1 overall in their last six games, and the Badgers are 5-0 in their last five games at home. The Badgers have also won five straight against the Hoosiers. The total has gone over in the last five games between the Hoosiers and the Badgers.
Tough call, but I’ll back the Hoosiers in this spot. This is a sandwich game for the Badgers as Wisconsin is coming off a tough win against the Cougars, and has to head to Minnesota to face the now tough Golden Gophers this coming weekend. The Badgers should win, and win pretty easily, but this is just too many points to be giving this Hoosiers offense.
