The UNLV Rebels look to keep their Bowl hopes alive when they visit the Air Force Falcons.
UNLV has two games remaining in the regular season and at 5-5 they need to win both in my view to more or less guarantee themselves a spot in the postseason. The Rebels headed in to their bye week off a 28-24 loss to Utah State which was back to back defeats so the extra time off couldn't have come at a better time. UNLV totaled 4o2 yards and had the Aggies on the ropes with a 24-21 lead in the fourth but couldn't hold on. Tim Cornett gave the offense some punch on the ground with 115 yards on 29 touches with a touchdown but the passing attach was touch and go. Caleb Herring completed 17-39 for 252 yards with two scores and an interception.

I guess we could say Air Force would be in much better shape if three losses by a single score were wins but the fact is the defense has struggled with over 38 points allowed per contest which is too much fo a ground first attack to over come when they don't throw the ball. The Falcons 45-37 loss to the run only Lobos in a classic battle of rushing attacks. AFA totaled over 250 yards on the ground with Antony LaCoste accounting for 177 yards 21 carries while e offense actually went to the air often with solid results. Nick Romine completed 15-23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions which are numbers that are not associaed with the Air Force passing attack. In the end the New Mexico run was the star of the game with 451 yards.
I think UNLV has a decent shot here because they are playing much better then in recent years and Air Force is down. Right now I'll back the Rebels with more at stake...
