The Navy Midshipmen take their option out West to take the field with the San Jose State Spartans.
Navy is looking to buildmomentum heading in to the postseason and they have done exactly that with consecutive victories following a 42-14 rout of South Alabama. The Middies led 20-14 after two quarters before dominating on both sides of the football over the second half. Navy rolled up 519 yards with the ground game accounting for 351 yards and almost seven yards per touch. Darius Staten led the way with 127 yards on seven carries with a touchdown while ten players ran the ball overall. Keenan Reynolds was productive through the air as well with a 10-17 effort producing 168 yards and a score with no picks. The defense held the Jaguars to 300 yards and completely shut down the run which hasn't been a strength.

Consecutive defeats have put the postseason hopes of San Jose State in jeopardy with the team falling to 5-5 following a 38-16 loss at Nevada. The pass first Spartans were one dimensional with less then 100 yards with 49 yards from Thomas Tucker being the only significant yardage. That meant riding the arm of David Fales which hasn't been a bad option for the offense throughout the year but wasn't enough in this spot. Fales connected on 28-43 for 326 yards with a touchdown and zero picks. Chandler Jones paced nine receivers with six catches for 77 yards but the offense couldn't find the end zone in the final 30 minutes against a Wolf Pack D that has been scored on. The Spartans allowed 482 yards with 311 coming on the ground.
San Jose State is in desperation mode and Navy has their option rolling so I'll take the field goal in a toss up game to me. I'll watch the line in the mean time...
