The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Mississippi State Bulldogs face off on Saturday in a battle of struggling SEC college football teams.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have lost their last seven games and it has been another disappointing season for the Hogs. The Arkansas offense has been awful averaging 20.4 points and 358.7 yards per game. Brandon Allen has completed an unacceptable 46.7 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Alex Collins has rushed for 941 yards and Jonathan Williams rushed for 783 yards and each has four touchdowns. Javontee Herndon has 28 catches and four touchdowns and Hunter henry has 21 catches and two touchdowns. The Arkansas defense has been hung out to dry by the offense and they allow 31.4 points and 400.3 yards per game. Alan Turner and Braylon Mitchell have 70 tackles each and Jarrett Lake has 62 tackles. Arkansas will need to bring in a lot more talent if they hope to compete.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs need to win both of their final two games in order to become bowl eligible and have a post season. The Mississippi State offense is averaging 27.5 points and 433 yards per game. Tyler Russell got back on the field as a starter last week and for the season he has completed 65.4 percent of his passes with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. LaDarius Perkins has rushed for 458 yards and two touchdowns and he has 22 receptions. Jameon Lewis has 43 receptions and four touchdowns and Robert Johnson has 27 receptions. Defensively Mississippi State has allowed 26.5 points and 373.9 yards per game. Bernardrick McKinney has 58 tackles and 2.5 sacks, Deontae Skinner has 50 tackles, and Nickow Whitley has 4 interceptions. Mississippi State closes out their season on Thanksgiving night against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
Arkansas is 1-4 against the spread following a loss, 1-4 against the spread in their last four SEC games, and 1-6 against the spread following a bye week. Mississippi State is 4-1 against the spread following a loss, 0-6 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four neutral site games. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
This is a lousy game and while both of these teams have struggled, Mississippi State has something to play for because if they win out they go to a bowl and that should be enough motivation to win and cover here.
