The Old Dominion Monarchs travel to North Carolina to play the Tar Heels on Saturday.
Old Dominion is 8-3 on the year and this will be there last game of the regular season. The Monarchs beat Campbell to grab their 8th win of the season last weekend. Old Dominion gained 499 total yards, but turned the ball over once. QB Heinicke completed 23 of 29 passes for 341 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. WR Pinkard caught 6 balls for 156 yards and 1 touchdown for the Monarchs. Heinicke has thrown for 3,892 yards and 32 touchdowns this year. Pinkard leads the team with 972 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns this season. Defensively, the Monarchs allowed 422 total yards to Campbell and were unable to force any turnovers. Old Dominion has played a couple ACC teams this year already. Old Dominion got blown out on the road against Maryland earlier in the year and lost by 11 at Pittsburgh a month ago. This weekend, the Monarchs will have to play a near perfect game to beat the red hot Tar Heels on Saturday.

The North Carolina Tar Heels improved to 5-5 overall, 4-3 ACC, after beating Pittsburgh on the road 34-27 on Saturday. The victory continued North Carolina’s unlikely rise following a 1-5 start. The Tar Heels came in having won three straight by an average of 21 points and seemed to be well on their way to making it four straight routs when they took a 24 points lead in the 3rd quarter. The Tar Heels gained only 322 yards on offense and turned the ball over twice in the win. QB Williams passed for 173 yards, while TE Ebron caught 3 balls for 73 yards for the Tar Heels. Williams also rushed for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. The offense is averaging 28.1 points per game, which ranks 71st in the country. North Carolina held Pittsburgh to 359 yards and forced 2 turnovers in the game. The Tar Heel defense is giving up 25.4 points per game this season, which ranks 56th in the country. North Carolina will head back home where they are 3-2 on the year.
The Tar Heels are on a roll right now and they are playing great right now. The teams North Carolina has blown out lack high powered offenses, while Old Dominion can score points in bunches. The Tar Heels are not strong in the secondary and I think Heinicke and company will be able to move the ball. North Carolina will win this game, but Old Dominion will keep things interesting for a while.
