The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunner look to keep their Bowl hopes afloat with a win at the North Texas Mean Green.

Texas-San Antonio appeared to be an afterthought three weeks ago when they stood at only 2-5 before a 10-7 decision over Tulane capped off a three game winning streak and has the team at .500 with two games to play. The Roadrunners win over the Green Wave wasn't a thing of beauty but Tulane might have had something to do with that because their games tend to be on the ugly side. UTSA was out gained 348-315 with a pair of lost fumbles while the defense force three turnovers of their own. The ground game totaled 132 yards with Brandon Armstrong leading the way with 77 yards on eight carries with a touchdown while Eric Soza completed 10-25 throws for 183 yards.

North Texas Mean Green vs. UTSA Roadrunners Pick-Odds-Prediction - 11/23/13

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

North Texas has enjoyed a productive first season in the CUSA at 5-1 which ties them for the top spot in the West division. The offense has produced some average looking numbers yet average over 30 points because their defense is above average and wins the battle of field position. Both sides of the ball were at their best in a 41-7 rout of Texas El Paso with a 471-184 advantage in real estate. While the defense put the clamps on the Miners rushing attack the Mean Green exploded with 317 yards and almost a 7 1/2 yard average. Brandin Byrd went off for 202 yards on 18 totes with a pair of scores including an 82 yard jaunt. Derek Thompson was quiet through the air with a 10-24 effort producing 154 yards and a TD but that was plenty with the defense turning in a sterling performance and their dominance on the ground.

I see two teams playing well but North Texas is solid at home and are very tough on the defensive side of the football. I think defense is the winner here...
