QB Savage threw for 313 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss. WR Street caught 5 balls for 81 yards, while RB Bennett was held to just 26 yards on the ground. However, RB Conner managed to rush for over 100 yards and 1 touchdown for the Panthers. Savage has thrown for over 2,300 yards and 18 touchdowns this season. Street leads the teams with 49 catches for a team-high 847 yards and 7 touchdowns this year. Bennett has a team-high 626 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns this season. The Panthers are averaging over 26 points per game this season, which ranks 81st in the country. The Panthers actually outgained North Carolina last weekend, holding them to only 322 total yards and forcing two turnovers. Overall, Pittsburgh’s defense is allowing 27 points per game this year, which puts them at 69th in the nation. Looking ahead, the Panthers will head out on the road where they are 1-3 this season.

The Syracuse Orange dropped to 5-5 overall, 3-3 ACC, after getting blown out at Florida State 59-3 last weekend. The Orange had won two in a row before the beat down against the Seminoles. The Orange gained only 247 total yards against the Seminoles and turned the ball over twice. QB Hunt completed 10 of 18 passes for 75 yards, while RB McFarlane rushed 13 times for 81 yards for Syracuse. Hunt has thrown for 1,021 yards and 7 touchdowns this year. RB Smith leads the team with 706 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, while WR West has a team high 359 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Overall, the Syracuse offense is averaging over 22 points per game, which ranks 99th in the country this season. The Orange defense allowed 523 yards against the Seminoles, but did force one turnover. It only took Florida State 18 minutes of possession time to score all 59 points. The Orange defense is allowing an average of 26.5 points per game this season, which ranks 64th in the country. Syracuse will head back home where they are 3-2 this year.
These two teams match up well against one another, but they like to different things on offense. Pittsburgh likes to throw the ball, while Syracuse likes to establish the run early and often. The Panthers have struggled on the road, but haven’t been blown out so they should keep this one close. However, I’m going to side with the home team in what looks to be a game that will be decided in the final few minutes.
