The Duke Blue Devils travel to Wake Forest to play the Demon Deacons on Saturday.
Duke improved to 8-2 overall, 4-2 ACC, after a huge win over Miami at home 48-30 last weekend. The Blue Devils are playing great football right now and have won six straight games. Duke controls their own destiny when it comes to earning a spot in the ACC Championship game, so the next two weeks are extremely important for the Blue Devils. In the win over Miami, Duke produced 543 yards on offense and did not turn the ball over once. QB Boone completed 11 of 15 passes for 104 yards, while QB Connette scored 4 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown for the Blue Devils. RB Snead carried the ball 8 times for 138 yards, while RB Duncan added 98 yards on the ground. The defense gave up 565 total yards, but was able to force one turnover in the win over Miami. Duke’s defense had not allowed over 22 points in their four previous games and allows an average of 23 points per game this year. Duke will head out on the road for this week’s game; the Blue Devils are 3-0 on the road this season.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 4-6 overall, 2-5 ACC, after losing to Florida State in embarrassing fashion 59-3 two weeks ago. Wake Forest has dropped three straight games and their bye week could not have come at a better time. The Demon Deacons would like to regroup and win their final two games to become bowl eligible. QB Tanner Price leads an office that is averaging only 17.8 points per game this year. Price has thrown for 1.954 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Price’s main target and maybe the best player on the team is WR Michael Campanaro, who has caught 67 balls for 803 yards with 6 touchdowns. RB Harris leads the team in rushing with 368 yards and 4 touchdowns. The defense did not play well in their last contest and is giving up an average of 23.8 points per game. The Demon Deacons will be well rested for this home game; Wake Forest is 3-2 at home this season.
Duke is playing great on both sides of the ball right now, while Wake Forest has struggled offensively all year. Wake Forest has played better at home this year and has had two weeks off to prepare for the Blue Devils. However, I think Duke is the better team and will find a way to win this game by a touchdown or more on the road.
