The East Carolina Pirates visit the Marshall Thundering Herd with the CUSA East title on the line.
Red hot East Carolina rattled off their fifth consecutive victory with a 42-28 decision over instate rival North Carolina State. The Pirates upped their record to 10-2 as they built a 35-7 lead heading to the 4th quarter before holding off a late Wolfpack rally. Both teams finished with around 440 yards with a good mix of running and passing. Vintavious Cooper rambled for 148 yards on 22 carries with Shane Carden and the receiving corps doing the rest of the damage. Carden completed 23-30 for 255 yards and a trio of touchdowns with Justin Hardy posting eight receptions for 83 yards and a score.

Marshall held up their end of the bargain by hammering Florida International 48-10 to set up a winner take all bout with East Carolina in week 14 for the CUSA East title. The high powered offense started slow with a scoreless first quarter and never let up after that with a 40 yard TD pass with 2 1/2 minutes left...nice job guys. This game went as expected with the Thundering Herd rolling up 558 yards and allowing only 262 yards. The ground attack piled up 270 yards and averaged nearly 8 1/2 yards per touch with Blake Frohnapfel and Steward Butler combining for 154 yards on eight carries Rakeem Cato had a quiet night by his standards with 241 yards with four touchdowns on a 15-31 performance.
I am looking in to the side right now but I'm more interested in the total which hasn't come out yet. I'll back the Pirates but might change this closer to game time...
