The Iowa Hawkeyes are having a strong season, but the Hawkeyes are in for a challenge on Friday when the Hawks head to Lincoln to face the Huskers.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have had a solid season, although in Husker land many would say that the Huskers season has been a disappointment. The Huskers are sitting at 8-3 this season, while going 5-2 at home. Most teams would take that home record, but the Huskers are known for having one of the tougher home fields in the Big Ten and two losses is a disappointment for this team. The Huskers are coming off of an emotional win over the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium this past weekend as the Huskers upset the Nittany Lions in overtime. Nebraska still struggled offensively against the Nittany Lions, managing just over 350 yards of total offense, against a suspect Nittany Lion defense. The Huskers defense played well, which has been a trend as of late as the Husker defense is starting to come around after some early season struggles.

The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Michigan Wolverines this past weekend 24-21 in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes did it their way against the Wolverines, playing very well defensively and amassing over 150 yards on the ground. The Wolverines took advantage of some offensive miscues by the Hawkeyes, but in the end Iowa still totaled 407 yards on the day, while holding the Wolverines to just 158 on the day. The Hawkeyes quietly have one of the better defenses in the Big Ten, and even the nation as the Hawks are allowing just 18.9 points per game this season, ranking Iowa 13th in the nation in scoring defense. The Huskers will definitely challenge this unit as Nebraska has one of the best backs in the conference in Ameer Abdullah.
The over is 4-0 in the last four games for the Hawkeyes after coming off an ATS loss. Iowa has played very well on the road this season as Iowa has a team that can travel, having a strong defense and run game. The Hawks are 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, and Iowa bounces back nicely as well, going 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.
The Huskers are 4-1-1 to the Under in their last six games in November, and Nebraska historically steps it up at home against big time opponents, going 10-4-2 against the spread in their last 16 home games against a team with a winning record.
I have to go with Iowa here. These two teams are basically even, and I question how strong the Huskers home field advantage is. Teams have had some success in Lincoln this season, and as I mentioned above the Hawkeyes travel well with their style of play. Iowa has played the tougher strength of schedule, but still match up well with the Huskers on paper.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Iowa wins this one outright, and this pick was going to be posted on the app, but for following my picks all year long I’m giving it out to all of you for free. Let’s cash this one!
