The Fresno State Bulldogs take their unbeaten record on the road to battle the San Jose State Spartans.
Fresno State is one win away from a perfect season with San Jose State standing in the way of that goal. The Bulldogs have been racking up both yards and points to the tune of 574 yards and 47 points and the offense did even better in a 69-28 rout of New Mexico. The Bulldogs were never challenged with a 35-0 lead at the half with more to come behind a mamoth 820 yard performance. It didn't matter that the defens held the Lobos to 325 yards because defense wasn't needed. The rushing attack produced 277 yards with Josh Quezada and Malique Micenheimer combining for 145 yards with each finding the end zone. The story of the day was Derek Carr who completed 27-37 for 527 yards and seven touchdowns with Davante Adams (9-246), Josh Harper (10-161) and Isaiah Burse (6-112) enjoying big nights.

San Jose State saw their chance at a winning record disappear in a 58-52 overtime loss to visiting Navy. Now the Spartans face Fresno State wth a win needed to finish at .500 which would snap a three game slide and hand the Bulldogs their only defeat. As the score indicates the bout with Navy was back and forth with the home team scoring a TD and making a two point conversion with no time left to go to the extra session tied 38-38. Although SJSU led in yardage 600-476 the option piled up 430 yards with Keenan Reynolds exploding for 240 yards and seven TD's. The Spartans totaled 170 rushing yards behind 98 from Jarrod Lawson and 62 yards from Thomas Tucker but it was the air where most of the damage was done. David Fales connected on 42-56 for 440 yards with five scores and a pick with Tucker and Chandler Joneas combining for 208 yards on 16 receptions.
I'm not real fond of laying the points on the road with anybody including Fresno State who seeks perfection against a Spartans club that wants nothing more then to ruin the Bulldogs dream season. I'm still taking the visitors and will look at this the next few days...
