The Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars face off on Friday in their college football rivalry game for the Apple Cup.
The Washington Huskies have lost the Apple Cup the past two seasons and they are looking to get it back this week. UW is coming off of a blowout win pasting Oregon State in their last game 69-27. Washington is averaging 39.5 points and 524.3 yards per game. Keith Price missed last week’s game and Cyler Miles led the Huskies to victory and Price is questionable again this week. Bishop Sankey is having a big year rushing for 1,575 yards and 17 touchdowns. Jaydon Mickens has 60 catches and five touchdowns and Kevin Smith has 41 catches and four touchdowns. The Washington defense allows 24 points and 387 yards per game. Princeton Fuimaono has 75 tackles, Shaq Thompson has 64 tackles, and Marcus Peters has five interceptions. Washington has played solidly and all of their losses have come to top teams in the Pac-12.

The Washington State Cougars have won their last two games which is enough to make them bowl eligible. While it has been a successful season it would make it better if WSU can keep the Apple Cup with a win in this one. The Wazzu offense is averaging 31 points and 432 yards per game. Connor Halliday as completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 26 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Marcus Mason has rushed for 370 yards and two touchdowns and Jeremiah Laufasa has seven rushing touchdowns. Gabe marks has 65 catches and six touchdowns and Dominique William and Vince Mayle each have 36 catches and six touchdowns. The Washington State defense allows 31.6 points and 450.5 yards per game. Deonne Bucannon has 102 tackles and five interceptions, Justin Sagote has 78 tackles, and Damate Hornton has five interceptions. Washington State has shown the ability to step up their game.
Washington is 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 4-1 against the spread following a win, and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning road record. Washington State is 9-3 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games, and 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 games. The home team has covered the spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
I am expecting a shootout and even though four of the last five have stayed under the total I like the over here and it is my free pick. I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post the pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
