The Air Force Falcons take their option to Hughes Stadium to face the Colorado State Rams.
In year's past the key for Air Force has been a quality option attack but hasn't been the entire story in 2013. The rushing attack might not be as potent as we have seen but 273 yards per game is none too shabby but the real problem has been defensive struggles where opponents are averaging over 38 points. The defense continued to have issues in a 41-21 loss to visiting UNLV. The Rebels totaled 471 yards with AFA falling short of the 300 yard mark with the option accounting for 228 and averaging around four yards per touch. Anthony LaCoste paced the run with 75 yards on 15 tries with Jon Lee and Sam Gagliano combining for 110 yards on eleven carries. Nick Romine (3-11/72) struggled in the air but did throw for a TD.

Colorado State has a chance to finish with a winning record and grab a spot in the postseason which hasn't been the case for some time. This could have been all nailed down with a win at Utah State but the offense stalled in a 13-0 defeat which wasted the Rams best defensive performance of the season. The defensive side of the football has been scored on at times but held Utah State to only 191 yards and eleven first downs in what typically would have been a winning effort. Not this time with the offense totaling 185 yards with Kapri Bibbs logging 54 yards on 18 carries on the ground while Garrett Grayson (16-39/147) threw a pair of interceptions to make a bad day miserable.
I see a lot of big spreads in week 14 which makes me cringe and this one is too big if Air Force gets going on the ground. I'm taking the Rams but I don't care for them as big favorites...(Kapri Bibbs might be hurt so check before betting)
