The Florida State Seminoles play the Florida Gators on Saturday afternoon.
Florida State is now 11-0 after destroying Idaho 80-14 last weekend. The Seminoles rank 2nd in the country in both points scored and points against, giving up 11.4 points a game while scoring 55.2 per contest. Besides the Boston College game where the Seminoles allowed 34 points, Florida State has only allowed one other team to score over 14 points this season. Meanwhile, the Seminoles offense has scored over 50 points seven times this year. The offense is led by QB Winston, who has thrown for 3,163 yards and 32 touchdowns this season. Winston’s two main targets are WR Greene, who has caught 57 balls for 889 yards and 9 touchdowns, and WR Shaw who has caught 47 balls for 828 yards and 5 touchdowns. RB Freeman has rushed for 808 yards on 131 carries with 11 touchdowns, while RB Williams has rushed for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Florida State will try to cap off a perfect season against their biggest rival on Saturday afternoon.

The Florida Gators dropped to 4-7, 3-5 SEC, after losing to Georgia Southern 26-20 at home last weekend. The loss will go down as Florida’s worst loss in school history and the Gators won’t be going to a bowl game for the first time since 1990. Florida has pinned its problems on a slew of injuries but that excuse doesn’t work against Georgia Southern, which has won three in a row and played without 19 of 65 scholarship athletes. No lower-division team had even beaten the Gators, who won their previous seven games against FCS teams by an average of 45 points. Florida averages only 19.9 points per game this season, which ranks a lousy 112th in the country. Meanwhile, the Gators defense, despite the injuries, is ranked 16th in the nation in points allowed, giving up less than 20 points per game. Florida will look to salvage something against Florida State in what will end up being a forgettable season.
These two teams have split the last four meetings with Florida winning at Florida State 37-26 last year. I honestly don’t see how Florida will score over 10 points in this game with the way their offense has played and how great the Seminoles defense has been this season. On the other side, Winston and the Seminoles should find some running room and take their shots down field against a banged up Florida defense. The Seminoles win and they win big in The Swamp.
