The Wyoming Cowboys travel to Romney Stadium to face the Utah State Aggies in week 14 action.
Wyoming looked like a mortal lock to make a Bowl appearance midway through the season before the wheels fell off with four consecutive defeats before ending the slide with a 56-53 overtime decision versus visiting Hawaii. The offense has struggled to keep up with a defense that has allowed less then 42 points just once in seven contests. The Cowboys traded scores with the visitors for 60 minutes with nearly 800 yards bettering the Warriors 624 yards. Bret Smith was a one man wrecking crew with 142 yards on the ground on 19 carries but was explosive through the air. Smith completed 29-48 for 498 yards and seven touchdowns. Robert Herron (11-141), Dominic Ruffin (7-121) and Jalen Claiborne (3-97) formed the nucleus of the receiving corps production to help off set Sean Schroeder's 499 passing yards.

It seemed like a possible death blow had been dealt to Utah State when do everything quarterback Chuckie Keeton tore his knee up and was lost for the season. To the Aggies credit they have responded with four consecutive victories after knocking off Colorado State 13-0 in a defensive struggle. Fans of offense and scoring wouldn't have liked this one with both teams totaling around 190 yards. Joey DeMartino was the offensive star with his 127 rushing yards on 35 carries with the game's only touchdown. Darell Garretson completed 8-18 throws for 43 yards in his lowest out put since taking over under center. It was still enough with the defense putting the pressure on Garrett Grayson and forcing a pair of interceptions to log the only shut out of the season.
This is a huge spread to cover for Utah State considering the offense didn't break 200 yards against Colorado State. However, I think the Aggies score on the Cowboys and have the defense to contain them...
