The Duke Blue Devils and the Florida State Seminoles play in the ACC Football Championship game on Saturday.

Duke improved to 10-2 overall, 6-2 ACC, after beating North Carolina 27-25 last weekend. The Blue Devils have won eight straight games after starting the season with a 2-2 record. Against the Tar Heels, Duke gained 461 yards and turned the ball over once. QB Anthony Boone threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns to WR Jamison Crowder for the Blue Devils, who also secured the long-suffering program’s first 10-win season. Devon Edwards returned a kickoff for a 99-yard touchdown and had the game-sealing interception with 13 seconds left to turn away the Tar Heels. RB Powell and RB Snead combined for 105 yards on the ground for Duke. The Blue Devils allowed 448 yards to the Tar Heels, but they were able to force two turnovers and they did a good job getting off the field on third down. On the year, the Blue Devils rank 41st in the country with an average of 33.7 points per game. Duke’s defense is allowing only 23 points per game, which ranks a solid 37th in the nation this season. This game will be played on a neutral field, but it’s worth noting that the Blue Devils are 5-0 on the road this season.

Florida State Seminoles vs. Duke Blue Devils Pick-Odds-Prediction 12/7/13

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 12-0 on the year after beating in-state rival Florida 37-7 last weekend. The Seminoles remain perfect despite all the off the field distractions centered around Jameis Winston, and the investigation into the sexual assault allegations. The Seminoles improved to 12-0 for the first time since 1999 and likely will earn a spot in the Bowl Championship Series title game by beating Duke in the ACC Championship game this Saturday. Florida State gained 456 total yards against the Gators and only turned the ball over once. QB Winston completed 19 of 31 passes for 327 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. WR Benjamin played outstanding, finishing with 9 catches for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns. RB Wilder Jr. and RB Freeman combined for 107 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. The Seminoles defense not only held Florida to only 193 total yards, they were able to force 2 turnovers and they got off the field on 3rd down. On the year, the Seminoles rank in the top two in both offense and defense. Florida State is averaging an impressive 53.7 points per game and is allowing only 11 points per game, which ranks 1st in the country. Florida State has won every game this year by at least 14 points and they can’t afford a letdown in the title game against Duke.

Duke has played great over the past two months and they should be more than happy to make it to the ACC Championship game. However, they are huge underdogs and will be overmatched by this Florida State team, who has manhandled all of their opponents this season. Duke has not played a team with the level of talent Florida State possesses. However, I think getting over four touchdowns on a neutral field in a conference championship game is a little too much. I hate to go against Florida State, but I’m going to side with the Blue Devils to keep this within four touchdowns. If you’re going to take Duke you should wait until the end of the week because the public will be pounding the Seminoles all week long.
